Yucca Varieties
We grow and offer several hardy varieties including Yucca Recurvifolia and Yucca Gloriosa. These varieties are known for their durability, striking appearance, and ability to thrive in climates that experience both hot summers and cold winters.
Yucca Recurvifolia
Curved-Leaf Spanish Dagger
This yucca has slightly curved, softer leaves that bend gracefully outward, giving the plant a more relaxed tropical appearance. It is extremely hardy and adapts well to a wide range of soils and climates. Mature plants can produce tall flower spikes with beautiful white bell-shaped blooms.
- ✓ Mature height: 5–6.5 ft
- ✓ Hardy to −4°F (USDA Zone 7–9)
- ✓ Tolerant of clay, sand, and gravel
- ✓ Drought tolerant once established
Yucca Gloriosa
Spanish Dagger
This variety has stiffer, more upright sword-shaped leaves, creating a bold architectural look in the landscape. It is equally hardy and produces tall flower spikes with beautiful white bell-shaped blooms.
- ✓ Bold upright architectural form
- ✓ Hardy to −4°F (USDA Zone 7–9)
- ✓ Wider, stiffer leaves than Recurvifolia
- ✓ Same fragrant white bell flowers
How to tell them apart.
"If the leaves pull away cleanly from the trunk to form a clean neck, it's Gloriosa. Recurvifolia leaves are harder to pull off and don't form a clean trunk."
